Specialised Support
01
Compassionate listening
Mental-health struggles don't exist separately from a person's beliefs, relationships, body, story or faith.
02
Theology of the Person
psychological support can sometimes feel like a choice between two worlds: professional care on one side and spiritual support on the other.
03
integrated approach
Faith is not used as a substitute for psychological care. Psychological care is not used to dismiss faith.
About me
Hi,
I am so glad you're here!
My name is Emi Souza. Brazilian-born, UK-raised, currently living in Asia. Mother of one adult child.
I'm a Christian Therapist, Biblical Counsellor Trainer & Ministry Leader with a background in CBT, Dietetics and Christian Psychology.
For over a decade, my work has centred around helping people understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, behaviours and bodies.
Over time, my Christian faith has become an integral part of how I understand people, wellbeing and transformation.
Alongside my professional work, I have also built and continue to lead a counselling ministry, equipping others to provide compassionate, safe support to the body of Christ.
This combination of clinical training, 15 years of practice across many different cultures and ministry experience shapes the way I counsel and lead today.
My Approach
Neuroscience & The Nervous System: Understanding what happens in the brain and nervous system can help us make sense of experiences that can otherwise feel confusing or overwhelming.
Emotional Awareness: Learning to recognise what you're feeling, understand what you need and respond rather than automatically react.
Christian Faith: For Christians, questions of identity, meaning, hope, grace, forgiveness, suffering, relationships and transformation are uniquely connected to faith.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is practical, collaborative and focused on helping you develop skills that you can take with you beyond the therapy room.
An integrated approach. different lenses that can help you understand yourself as a whole person.
I don't believe faith & mental health have to be separated
My work is grounded in the psychological understanding of God's design from the Christian worldview.

Here's what others are saying
“Working with Emi helped me understand myself in a completely different way.
I began to recognise the connection between my thoughts, emotions and behaviours instead of constantly blaming myself for how I was feeling. I felt genuinely heard and never judged.
The work was practical, but also gave me space to explore my faith and what it meant to live from grace rather than constantly striving to be better.”
RUTH M.
“I came to Emi feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from myself.
She created a space where I felt safe enough to be honest about things I had struggled to put into words.
I particularly valued the way she brought together psychological understanding and Christian faith without making either feel forced. I left with a much deeper understanding of my emotions, my patterns and how to respond to myself with more compassion and freedom.”
